Hot n’ Spicy Short Ribs

Something quick for dinner! A lot of us get super busy and pressed for time. Once you have all the ingredients together from the day before or picking up unique items like kimchi carrots at the local farmers market from Wise Goat Organics. The carrots are thinly sliced, pickled and spicy! The dry rub seasoning for the short ribs is from a friend , BBQ pit-master and comedian Dave Williamson who developed his own flavors like using pretzel salt in the dry rub. I used broccolini as a side vegetable but you can always use your favorite or what is available. Top it off with Bachan’s Hot n Spicy Japanese BBQ sauce.


INGREDIENTS

½ inch cut beef flanked short ribs

Meat Dave all purpose dry rub

Bachan's Hot and Spicy Japanese Barbecue Sauce

Broccolini

Kimchi sliced carrots from Wise Goat Organics

¼ cup water

Sea salt

EV Olive Oil

Prep Time: 5 Minutes 

Cook Time: 15 Minutes 

Serves: 2 People 

DIRECTIONS

1. Season ribs on both sides evenly. Sear in hot cast iron pan for approximately 3 min each side until desired tenderness.

2. In another pan sauté the broccolini in EV oil and salt. Pour a 1/4 cup of water into the pan to allow steam and cover it up for 2 min.

3. Plate broccolini and ribs. Hit the ribs with the good stuff : Bachan's Hot and Spicy Japanese Barbecue Sauce and a little more Meat Dave dry rub. Garnish with kimchi carrots.
